Portable battery packs have become incredibly popular in recent years. From small pocket-sized chargers to giant power stations, you can find battery packs in all shapes and sizes. While most of these serve the simple purpose of charging your devices, the EcoFlow Delta II is much more than just another battery.
The Delta II is a new generation portable power station that aims to provide a complete off-grid power solution. With its huge battery capacity, diverse charging options, and smart features, it can power a wide range of appliances and equipment whether you’re at home, camping outdoors, or on the go. I was initially hesitant about the Delta II but after testing it out, I was amazed at what this little box can do. The Delta II really stands out from other battery packs and generators, and has become an indispensable tool in my life.
Battery Life That Goes the Distance
Unlike most portable battery stations that are only rated for 500 cycles, the Delta II is rated for an incredible 3000 cycles – that’s 6 times longer than the average competitor!
This exceptional battery life span is thanks to the delta II utilizing the same LFP (lithium ferrophosphate) battery technology as Tesla. LFP batteries have very low resistance which allows them to withstand more charging cycles before deterioration.
So even if you use the Delta II every single day to power your devices, it would still last over 10 years before needing to be replaced. Now that’s what I call getting your money’s worth!
The long-lasting LFP battery gives you complete peace of mind that the Delta II will be your trusty companion for the next decade. You’ll never have to worry about the battery giving out when you need it most on a camping trip or during a blackout.
Powerful Performance
The Delta II delivers powerful performance with the ability to output 1800 watts continuously. This is enough power to run most of your appliances, from waffle makers and coffee machines to power tools. Where the Delta II really stands out is its ability to enable X-Boost in the app, allowing it to surge up to 2200 watts.
Having that extra power on demand is a game changer. When I was working on my backyard playground build, the standard 1800 watts handled my power tools without issue. But then I switched to my industrial sander and it temporarily peaked over 1800 watts. With X-Boost enabled, the Delta II had no problem handling that short duration power spike up to 2200 watts.
The ability to output so much power in such a portable package is incredibly useful. I can run high-draw appliances anywhere, whether at a campsite with no hookups or in a remote corner of my yard far from any outlets. The Delta II eliminates the need for multiple heavy duty extension cords.
Versatile Output Ports For All Your Devices
The Delta II stands out with its wide variety of output ports to support all types of devices and appliances. On the front, it has two 100W USB-C ports for fast charging laptops like MacBooks, plus regular USB-A ports and fast charging USB-A ports.
On the back, it features an astounding six AC outlets – two of which have a ground port for 3-prong plugs. There’s also a 12V car outlet for charging things like car vacuums or tire inflators, as well as a standard barrel plug outlet with adapters. With such a diversity of output ports, you’ll have no issues connecting and simultaneously powering all your necessities. Whether it’s household appliances, power tools, laptops, phones, drones, or camping accessories – the Delta II has an output for it.
Use Cases
The Delta II has been useful in many different scenarios, allowing me to power devices and tools whether at home, traveling, or camping outdoors.
When camping, the Delta II was extremely convenient. We used it to make waffles at our campsite, powering the waffle maker that normally would require an electrical hookup. I also used it with a portable coffee maker while camping to get coffee anytime. The Delta II powered various things like a portable bug zapper, a water kettle for boiling water, and kept our trailer batteries charged up – things that would normally quickly drain a battery.
I’ve also found uses for the Delta II around my home. For example, when my tractor battery died because the lights were accidentally left on, I was able to use the Delta II to charge the battery rather than pushing the heavy tractor back to the garage. I just brought the Delta II over, connected a battery charger, and recharged the tractor battery with ease.
The Delta II has come in handy for powering tools as well. When I needed power for some power tools while working on a playground, the Delta II provided plenty of power unlike some smaller batteries I’ve used. Whether inflating something while at the beach or giving my electric tools extra power at a work site, the Delta II has been reliable.
Weight and Size
Despite its high capacity, the Delta II is surprisingly lightweight at just 27 lbs. I was really surprised when I took it out of the box – it’s much lighter than I expected for a battery with this much power.
The lightweight and compact size makes the Delta II super convenient to take anywhere. I started bringing it more places once I realized how easy it was to transport. For example, I took it down to the beach and used it to charge up my inflator. I was also able to easily carry it 150 feet from my garage to jump start my tractor when the battery died.
The Delta II takes up minimal space but provides maximum power. EcoFlow designed it to be the perfect balance of portable and powerful. So if you need a high capacity battery that won’t weigh you down, the Delta II is a great option.
Battery Capacity
The Delta II comes with a large 1024Wh battery capacity. While most portable power stations have a battery around 500Wh or less, the Delta II packs in over double that amount. This gives you plenty of power to run appliances and devices over extended time.
If 1024Wh isn’t enough capacity for your needs, you can purchase an additional battery that attaches to the side of the Delta II. This brings the total capacity up to a massive 2048Wh. With two batteries attached, you could power high-draw appliances for days without needing to recharge. The expandable battery system makes the Delta II adaptable and able to truly meet the power needs of any adventure.
Charging Time
One of the most impressive features of the Delta II is how fast it can charge. This thing charges about 7 times faster than the average competitor battery pack – which is just crazy!
The standard 1024 watt-hour battery in the Delta II can go from completely dead at 0% to 100% charged in only 1 hour and 20 minutes. And if you just need to charge it up to 80%, it only takes around 50 minutes. That is insanely fast charging compared to other portable power stations.
For example, one small portable battery pack I have that’s only 11 watt-hours takes over an hour to fully charge. Yet this huge 1024 watt-hour battery in the Delta II takes the same amount of time.
The super fast charging makes the Delta II so convenient when you need portable power in a hurry. You can plug it in right before heading out to go camping or on a road trip. And by the time you’re all packed up and ready, it’ll be completely charged up and ready to go.
Solar Charging
One of the coolest features of the Delta II is the optional solar charging panel. This solar panel is the best I’ve ever used – it charges the Delta II battery in just 5-6 hours in optimal sunlight.
The solar panel itself is surprisingly light and packs away into a compact size. The panels are made of durable yet thin and lightweight material. Incredibly, the panels have solar cells on both sides, allowing them to capture reflected light from surfaces like concrete or grass.
When folded up, the panel can be propped up at an angle to directly face the sun. I was able to charge the Delta II completely for free using solar power. We went camping and had zero electric hookups, and the solar panel kept the Delta II charged up all day while powering our trailer at night. With two solar panels and an extra battery, you can potentially harvest solar energy for 10-12 hours on a sunny day.
The 220W solar panel charges quickly, but EcoFlow also offers higher wattage panels for even faster charging. Going solar with the Delta II gives you free, renewable energy to power your life anywhere.
App and Smart Features
The Delta II is a smart device with integrated app control via Bluetooth and WiFi. This provides intelligent monitoring and allows you to adjust settings remotely.
With Bluetooth, you can connect directly to Delta II even without WiFi in remote locations like camping. The app provides real-time tracking of power levels, input and output.
Once connected over WiFi at home, you can control Delta II from anywhere. Turn charging on or off for various ports to conserve power when not needed. For example, when trailer batteries are fully charged, disable output to conserve Delta II capacity.
The app also provides firmware updates, adjustable charging speeds, X-Boost frequency control and more. With the robust app, Delta II becomes more than just a battery – it’s a smart home appliance. You have complete visibility and control from anywhere for optimal power management.
